Here’s just a sample of the hundreds of projects we’ve funded over the years:

On Going Projects

  • Swimsuits are provided for hundreds of youths who needed proper swim attire in order to swim in our neighborhood pools. We also provided scholarships for swimming lessons and summer camps.

  • Doggie Bag Dispensers are continually being installed in various Spokane Parks.

  • Reforest Spokane and The Susie Forest receive funds for the tree program.

  • Therapeutic Recreation Program receives scholarships for low-income senior citizens and people with disabilities. Providing sports equipment for disabled youth.

  • Spokane Symphony’s Labor Day Concert receives underwriting so thousands of people can enjoy the concert in Comstock Park annually.

  • Spokane Parks and Recreation Department has received scholarship monies for numerous programs that allowing children and adults to participate in the numerous recreational and educational classes.

2008

  • 170 trees were planted in Spokane Parks as part of the Reforest Spokane Program and The Susie Forest.

  • Riverfront Park’s Looff Carousel’s crankshaft was repaired.

  • C.U.P.S. located at Mission Park provided joint collaboration between Rotary/Rotaract of Spokane and parents of special needs children helping fund the Children’s Universal Playground System to reduce barriers to physical activity for special needs children to enjoy.

  • A Recreation Van was provided for the Northeast Youth Center.

2007

  • Sixteen Doggie Bag Dispensers were installed in various Spokane Parks.

  • Partnered with the NW Museum of Arts & Culture to celebrate the centennial of the 1908 Spokane "System of Parks and Parkways” plan created by the Olmsted Brothers Landscape Architects; reprinting in its entirety, including maps, drawings, and photographs for the exhibition at the MAC.

  • Half of the IMAX theatre seats were replaced from the original seats from Expo ‘74.

2006

  • Mid-City Concern/Meals on Wheels Downtown Center received a new commercial stove. The Center serves over 100 meals a day to Spokane’s highest-risk, lowest income seniors.

  • Looff Carousel at Riverfront Park restoration.

2005

  • The Corbin Senior Activity Center received an upgrade their computer system allowing them to better keep in touch with their members as well as to fundraiser.

  • The Downtown C.O.P.S and Dept of Corrections received funds for bike patrols to increase security and safety in parks including People’s Park, 4th Ave Skateboard Park, & Riverfront Park.

  • Riverfront Park received an Entrance Fountain and Drinking Fountain.

 2004

  • Riverfront Park received funds towards the project to rebuild the park’s entrance.

  • Peaceful Valley Community received renovations for the Center.

  • Witter Pool received a water slide.

  • Riverfront Park’s Ice Palace’s Penalty Ice Box and Zamboni engine received numerous repairs.

  • Northeast Youth Center’s Learning Center received seed money for the project.

  • The Castle Overlook at the Corbin and Moore-Turner Heritage Gardens received funding for a renovation project at the Corbin Art Center.

Other Projects

  • Riverfront Park received funds for the Centennial Trail/Sandifur Bridge Project.

  • The Red Wagon was repainted in Riverfront Park.

  • Esmeralda Golf Course received a Club House with furnishings.

  • Finch Arboretum Park received a walking trail for the blind.

  • Northeast Community Center for Youths received a projector for Teens Night.

  • The Erna Bert Nelson Rose Arbor was built at Manito Park.

  • Southside Senior Activity Center received a new facility.

  • Kayaks, floatation devices, and trailer were provided for the Touring Kayak Program.

  • Ben Burr and Peaceful Valley Parks received play equipment.

  • Spokane Youth Sports received funds for Outdoor Youth Complex at Rypien Field in Hillyard.

  • Under the Freeway Skatepark was constructed Downtown.
