Basketball Court

A new basketball court on the North

Bank of the park will be an additional

draw for young people and families,

and will build on Spokane’s reputation

as a great American basketball city.

From working people downtown playing

a quick game of pickup on their lunch

break, to kids playing after school or on

a warm summer night, this space will be

in line with our vision of this park - bringing

free, accessible recreation to all.

Richard Fox, former basketball player

and Riverfront Spokane Campaign Steering

Committee member says: "Spokane is one

of the best basketball communities in the

country. Whether as fans or players, there

is a shared love of the game.  Having a

signature court in the heart of our city will

celebrate a sport that continues to galvanize

our community and bring it together.”
