A Piece of Spokane History has Returned

This famous butterfly from Expo '74 has been restored in Riverfront Park.

Help fund a second Butterfly to honor the legacy of Expo ’74.

The second iconic butterfly will greet visitors at the south entrance of the park with beautifully restored fabric wings and a nod to Spokane’s moment in the global spotlight.

Jennifer Leinberger, Founder of Save the Butterflies says it best:

"The Expo Butterflies have a place in the hearts of all who saw them fly above Riverfront Park during their glory days.  As the park goes through its own “butterfly transformation” during this remodel, it is only fitting to return the original butterflies to their posts so that they may fly again, welcoming old and new visitors.”
