I know that I seem to have dropped the ball on my #SpokaneOutdoors posts - but the reality is that we went off on vacation and spent most of it outdoors! And all that time in the great outside did just what the experts said it would do...it relaxed us, and prepared us to face the work-a-day world better than ever. Granted, much of our time was spent on the Oregon Coast (am I completely biased as a native Oregonian in writing that there is no place better than the Oregon Coast

Outdoor Adventures - the holiday weekend version!
We did it! We got outside to a park every single day this weekend! I will admit that the Sunday morning outing to the Trail out at Mirabeau ended with a certain someone carrying a child's bike (complete with training wheels) the last 1/8 of a mile....but to credit the child he had just ridden almost 2 miles! They are out Making a Splash!
On June 9 I was privileged to be able to help distribute pool passes to families who otherwise wouldn't be able to get their kids into public pools in Spokane County. We handed out over just over 500 passes in 2 hours that morning, and the excitement on the kids' faces and gratitude from the parents was unbelievable. So far we've handed out 1830 pool passes to kids in Cheney, Spokane Valley, Spokane County and the City of Spokane. The swimming lessons that we've funded are in
Dinner is OUT!
I know, I know. Dinner outside is not exactly cutting edge. But it was just the 1st day of the challenge - and a day full of meetings and appointments - so I decided that it is okay to start easy. After all, #OUTisIN. Today, though...we're headed to the park! #SpokaneOutdoors
