What's making us happy today!
Kids laughing while running or swinging. Couples holding hands while going for a walk.
The standard images of what a park looks like evoke feelings of happiness. And now studies are showing that this is more than just marketing.
“Higher levels of neighborhood green space were associated with significantly lower levels of symptomology for depression, anxiety and stress, after controlling for a wide range of confounding factors.”
To translate, the more park space a neighborhood has, the less likely the neighbors are to be depressed, anxious or stressed.
Which means that each day when we are working to make parks stronger, we are working to make the community healthier.
And that's enough to make us happy!
