Parklets have come to Spokane

Today is PARKing Day - which started in 2005 as a grassroots effort to reclaim some cement and bring in a bit of green...even if only for a day.

We've had a few organizations take this day on in Spokane, and we at the Parks Foundation were bound and determined to do something amazing this year - until we learned that we didn't need to!

A new nonprofit, YES (You Express Studio) also decided that downtown needs some additional greenspace (shown by many studies to adi in creativity and stress relief) and have put together Spokane's first parklet. It remains to be seen if this small parklet can blossom into something bigger, but we are all for it.
