Foundation Supports ADA Improvements

This year the Foundation invested $10,000 in supporting ADA improvements at both Linwood and Liberty Lake Regional Parks.

Both of these projects addressed community concerns about the ease of park access for those with physical disabiities.

"We were happy to partner with Parks Foundation on this endeavor," says Doug Chase, Spokane County Parks, Recreation & Golf director. "We knew that one of their core values is Providing Access, and felt that these two projects were a great match to showcase the Foundation's commitment to park access for everyone."

At Linwood, funds helped to develop an ADA-compliant cement pathway from the parking lot to the picnic shelter and from the shelter to the restroom for a total of 332 linear feet. At Liberty Lake, the County constructed 2 paved ADA parking stalls, and then installed approximately 125 linear feet
